DISCOVERY Vehicle Insurance Claims - Service is non-existent

I was involved in a car accident on 21 February this year (2025). My car was rear-ended and the driver of that car admitted that it was entirely his fault... He reported it through his insurance (Discovery) and I had to work through his insurers to get all resolved. This included taking photos of the damage, filling in forms, providing my no claims letter from my insurance, getting my vehicle registration doc, getting quotes..... This process has now been going on for nearly 2 months.... and I am going through EXACTLY the same as per the complaint reported by Thabo T of 21 October 2024. I am being ghosted.... calls not answered / no email response or automated responses saying I need to email *** (so it's going round in circles). I assume my next port of call will be the Ombudsman. This is DISGUSTING. I am appalled at this indifferent treatment!

THABO T (21 October 2024 at 11:49 - refers: I have been involved in a car accident with one of the Discovery Insurance commercial clients. Their client was kind enough to admit fault and to refer me to their insurer (Discovery Insurance) to claim for the damages. I provided all the necessary documents, you would think my claim would run seamlessly. NO!!! guess again, I provided all the necessary documents on 24 August 2024 - till this day, I am still waiting for my claim to be finalised.

I sent follow up emails and not only was (and still is) the specialist handling my case ghosting me (not responding to my emails), even their general third-party email was ghosting me. In essence, no one was providing me with an update on my claim, even when I requested for an update, HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. What a horrible experience!!! - If you are considering processing your third-party claims against Discovery insurance - Just know you are in for a long ride!!!"

Reviewer Update
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I have received the offer and report and although the offer is R4,000 less than the cheapest quote I provided, I am forced to accept it as I am not prepared to delay this any longer. In the end, it might have been quicker and less stressful if I had just gone through my own insurer, even though it would mean I would have to pay excess and forfeit my no claim bonus.
