Discovery slow refund process

I have been using Discovery insure for a few years now, and have always had good service. I cancelled my policy on 20 April as I sold my vehicle. I was helped by Shafick Allow in the retention department. He is very friendly and helpful and processed my cancellation quickly. He asked me to review him on this site. I said I would wait until my refund from my saver account was processed as a refund from Discovery Vitality is a year late. Well its 6 May now and my refund is still due long after the 5-7 working days promised. Sorry Shafick but I think your company has let you down. I don't think you deserve a bad review, but your employer does!

Dear Shirley,

Thank you for your patience.

Your Insure Funder Account (IFA) is available to you when you have a valid claim and if you wish to withdraw a portion after every third anniversary of your plan.

Please note that you withdrew from the excess funder account on your first three year anniversary which was on the period ending 03/06/2015 - 02/06/2018.
The next withdrawal would have been available on the 02/06/2021. Your policy cancellation was prior to the maturity of the withdrawal period, meaning you have forfeited the amount in your IFA.

Regards
Discovery Insure Team

Best regards,

SM

I don't think that is correct. I didn't use the IFA right from the beginning. The only amount I am aware of is money I used to pay a premium during Lockdown in 2020.
Also, if this is the case, Shafick should not have told me that I am entitled to my half of the contributions. Go and listen to the call recording.
Also, why do I need to resort to this website to get some feedback?

So it turns out that due to some sneaky terms and conditions I sold my car 2 months before my 3 year anniversary. This entitled Discovery to keep my share of the contributions and in effect cost me R4000. Be careful people! Rather keep the cash in your account.
