Discovery Insure's Day Light *******
Three months ago on the 18 April 2021, my car was involved in an accident. Discovery Insure driver passed a red light, she accepted responsibility for the accident and then sent us information so that we can claim from her insurance. Both cars were assessed by Discovery Insure assessor, and they were both deemed uneconomical to repair. This even though the Discovery Insure Driver’s cost of repairs was far lower than the insured value of the vehicle. Discovery Insure has since paid the Insured Driver for her “written off car”. On our side, the cost of repair was far above the retail value of our car. However, Discovery Insure made us an offer, which was a third of the total cost to repair the damage as assessed by their assessors, Net Assess. Discovery Insure did not even want to explain their calculations and how they got to the offer (laws that supports their judgements and decisions). After struggling to get joy from them I did research and found out that they did not even use the established formula in calculating what is due to me.
