Discovery Insure (Third Party claim)

I had an accident on the 21st of December 2020, the other driver that bumped me admitted his mistake, the claim (third party) was sent around January 2021. I then called the guy because it was just quite, then I was told to see Net Assess assessor by the name of Lash who works in Pietermaritzburg (Raven’s Panelbeaters). Lash was very nice, the mistake I made was to ask him how long it will take to replace the bumper that was scratched from the accident, he told me about 3-4 days, I made a comment, saying that it will be an inconvenience for me not to have a car for so many days especially because the car has to go to Umhlanga, Durban. Now I didn’t tell Lash not include the damaged bumper on his quotation but he decided not to. When I received the quotation I refused to sign it because it was not right, I phoned Lash and he said it was the Discovery Head office that decided to remove it. When I called Gretchen Rubin and Nonkululeko Kolanisi( Legal Liabilities Advisors) they either not pick up the phone or not respond to my emails. I have only been getting response from them only when I threaten to expose them. I am frustrated, they are wasting my time. I sent them a quotation with bumper included from Umhlanga and it’s been more than a month saying that they are waiting for their assessors to decide, mind you this bumper was damaged by their client. They are using *********** assessors avoid paying for this claim. Their client caused this accident, has been trying to talk to Discovery but they are just dragging their feet. They have to pay for this claim, they are not getting away with this. Thuli

Thank you, I will appreciate that since this delay doesn’t make sense to me

Gretchen Rubin called today and promised to sort this before 12:00, later it changed and I was told that the assessor is finalizing the claim., ***** I haven’t heard anything, that’s Discovery Insure. This case needs to now go to Ombudsman
