Discovery insure *****s you over
I recently received a car insurance quote from Discovery, which notably offered a more cost-effective premium than my previous insurance provider. Subsequently, I decided to proceed with this insurance option and terminated my existing coverage, with the understanding that my new insurance would commence on the 15th of October. However, as of today, no premium has been debited from my account. Instead, I have received correspondence indicating that the policy would become active on the aforementioned date.
In light of this discrepancy, I initiated a phone call today to gain clarity on the activation timeline. This conversation revealed that, regrettably, the insurance application had not been processed by Discovery, and they are now proposing a revised premium rate, notably at a higher monthly cost and excess. What is particularly disconcerting is that this proposed premium comes with a higher excess compared to the terms originally agreed upon in my prior communication with them.
Throughout these discussions, I have persistently requested written confirmation of the proposed terms, a request that has been consistently declined, with the company insisting that all transactions and communications should be conducted exclusively via telephone.
