Discovery Insure Returned My Vehicle with More Damage Than It Went In With

Discovery Insure's handling of my claim has been extremely disappointing.

My 2024 VW Polo GTI was originally booked in for repairs after its IQ lights were ******. The vehicle was then damaged while in the custody of Discovery's appointed service providers. I was later informed that the vehicle had suffered sump damage, an oil leak and an engine misfire.

What is most concerning is that Discovery initially alleged that I had caused the damage myself. Only after further investigation did it emerge that the damage occurred while the vehicle was being transported to the panel beater.

I did not appoint the towing company, I did not control the vehicle, and I had no involvement in the events that caused this additional damage. Yet I am now being asked to accept a repair-only solution on a virtually new vehicle that suffered oil-loss and engine-related issues while under Discovery's control.

Despite repeated requests, there has been a lack of transparency regarding exactly what happened, the extent of the damage, and what assurances exist against future engine problems resulting from this incident.

As a policyholder, I expected my vehicle to be protected while in the care of Discovery's service providers—not returned with additional damage and uncer*****y about its long-term reliability and value.
