Discovery Insure Poor Service- Think Ten Times Before Using

My daughter had what I believed to be a minor accident on the 11th of April 2022. The reporting of the incident and arranging towing was pretty hassle free. Unfortunately, that's where it ended.

A fairly rude assessor contacted me on the 14th of April and I referred him to my daughter as she was listed as the driver, after that I heard nothing.

On the 20th my daughter was told by the panel beater that her vehicle had been written off, but we heard zero from Discovery. I went onto the app and the claim showed that it was opened on the 11th and also closed on the 11th but you cannot open any of the documents. They did have a very old email address which no longer exists, so it would definitely have bounced back to them.

I spoke to my broker and he finally managed to get someone to mail me on the 21st of April with the documents that were required. I finally submitted these on the 28th.

On the 2nd of May I received an "acceptance of loss document" I have finance gap cover so I raised a query as to why the full amount was not being covered and I received ZERO response

On the 6th of May I received a call from Discovery Legal department wanting to confirm some details as a third party claim had been lodged. Once again I suggested they speak to my daughter as she is the listed driver. I did ask if the person could assist with my query on my finance top up. This was resolved, not that I was happy but I decided to just move on.

I sent a mail on the 6th of May stating I accept the settlement, unfortunately I didn't attach the signed document. Not one of the people I sent it to rep**** that the signed doc was not attached.

This morning I have sent te document again, hopefully the claim will be settled before the debit order comes off again.

To add insult to injury, in looking around I have realised that Discovery Insure is ripping me off big time. My monthly premium currently is R5900 per month, the average quote I have received is R3500 like for like
