Discovery Insure not worth it.
I recently phoned Discovery Insure to add an additional vehicle to my existing insurance policy that I've had with Discovery for more than 4 years.
The premium they were able to give me was almost double what other Insurance companies offered. Even after being referred to their "pricing department", they said that there was no way of lowering the monthly premium and when asked why it was so much higher they just keep saying that it's due to the risk factors determined by their actuaries...
Discovery did not even make any effort to try and match the premium of other insurance providers or lower their ridiculous premium, and there was no effort made for client satisfaction.
Clearly the message from Discovery is that "we don't need your business, and can't be bothered to look after our clients"
Discovery has lost a client in me, and I will not be recommending Discovery to anyone
I would like to know what is considered a "high risk item" as clearly Discovery's definition is different from any of the other Insurance providers.
Secondly, why is this information now available all of a sudden, but when speaking to your consultants the only answers given is that "it's due to the risk factors determined by their actuaries" and no actual details or examples can be given.
I have already cancelled my existing vehicle insurance with Discovery due to this incident and will be taking by business as well as any recommendations elsewhere.
