Discovery Insure not assisting enough to make us better drivers

<p>Discovery Insure has all the information to know when a speed limit has been broken, but don't utilise that technology for the advantage and benefit of Discovery Insure drivers.</p> <p> </p> <p>Cases in point:</p> <p>* my goal was reset after driving 68km/h on a off ramp from the N4 to Simon Vermooten in Pretoria; and</p> <p>* we had to drive 80km/h for tens of kilometers in the Hartebee****rt Dam area due to poor or no road surface signage and poor or no road side signage, after passing an 80km/h sign which was never increased. This led to multiple motorists hooting and reclessly overtaking on dangerous stretches of the road as we were holding them up.</p> <p> </p> <p>When my broker enquired from Discovery Insure where the 60km/h zone on an off ramp begins, he was told that the whole off ramp bears this speed limit - they insult our intelligence by making this uninformed remark as NOBODY drives 60km/h a meter after they left the highway, nor do they reduce their speed to 60km/h on a "open" highway prior to exiting the highway.</p> <p> </p> <p>I can't recall that I have ever reduced speed in this way and if we had to, it would probably also result in unsafe driving by other road users. And funny enough, my goals have not been reset on each and every other day that I use the same off ramp, driving the same way.</p> <p> </p> <p>We request that Discovery advises through enhancement on their application what the actual speed limit is on any road in South Africa.</p> <p> </p> <p>Discovery Insure has admitted to a previous complaint when my goal was reset on the ON ramp, whereafter I argued that the highway begins on the ON ramp. They admitted that their system had / made a fault and it was indeed not a transgression of the speed limit.</p> <p> </p> <p>Why would the same not apply for OFF ramps.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please don't underestimate your policy holders' intelligence.</p>
