Discovery Insure Misleads Their Clients

My car suffered damage due to me leaving the sunroof open in a storm.

Fortunately the damage was not servere and included electrical damage of a mulfunctioning handbrake, gearbox and seatbelt warning and also damage to the passenger seat.

The car was evaluated by Discovery and I was advised that the expected damage was below my excess but that the car needed to be taken to an Audi Approved workshop for propper diagnoistics to be done and where the final value of damages could be estimated.

On 10 November I took my car to Renew it Rivonia where the car had been booked in by Discovery Insure.

The car has now been at Renew it Rivonia for almost a full month while it has become apparent that, firstly, renew it, although preferred by Discovery, is not only not Audi approved but also that they do not have any of the diagnostic equipment I was led on to believe they had.

In fact the diagnostic work was done at Northcliff Audi - Where I would gladly have taken the car myself.

It has been a constant battle with Discovery of non returned calls, poor call center agents, management that takes no accountability and generally just a "Not my problem" attitude,

To date, the 12/2/2016 I still await delivery of my car while almost being forced into accepting the car with a sub standard leather repair done on the passenger seat - Again I may add not Audi Approved.

I would list all the persons I have spoken to, but they are too numerous and there is always someone not available or off sick or similar so that there is no one who is accountable.

I have kept however very clear mail history of all the goings on with them for record purposes.

Why does discovery lie to their clients assuring them all repairs are conducted by reputable repair centers that specialise in their clients cars, and how is it acceptable to keep a clients vehicle when the repairs clearly could have been completed in a few days as most of the electronics were fine once dried out and reset!

If you are looking for a relaible insureance company who places their clients ahead of their own pockets, look elsewhere.
