Discovery Insure let down by one of their consultants
I happened to be in an accident and immediately was called by Discovery, they were very helpful over the phone at the time of the incident. Then I was handed over to an agent, Peter Rankhathali. There were a few issues where I had emailed information and he phoned to ask me where it was, understandably that can happen. However, his tone was usually condescending and quite abrupt and I did not appreciate this, although I did not complain. After a short time, Discovery paid me out for the panelbeating costs, as we chose to use our own panelbeater. Peter asked for an invoice from the Panelbeaters for the towing and the panelbeater informed me that it had been sent. After not hearing anything and not being paid the R2000 which Peter had told me they would pay out for towing, I sent an email asking if he recived the invoice, as I had not been paid. His response was that the towing was paid and claim closed. How does this help me when you are so abrupt with a client, can you not explain who and when it was paid?. I sent another mail stating that there was no payment in my bank account, did Discovery perhaps pay the panelbeaters? No reply and so again I asked him to clarify. He then called me and, again, when I asked if he recieved the invoice, I could not get a straight reply and after getting frustrated that he could not tell me where the R2000 is, I asked him to send a mail. The response I got from him today is ' Payment is requested for R2000'. Again, what does this mean? Discovery, you have brilliant systems in place and I was happy with you as a company, but I was not and am not happy with the service from Peter and, as a result, have given a two star rating.
