Discovery Insure is a no Go

I claimed for my TV that stopped working after 4 and half years of purchase. I did not have extended warranty. Discovery would not honor my claim saying that the TV failed because of wear and tear. Why would I take insurance cover on my TV if I have to continously pay for maintenance and keep the TV in working order. This will make the TV work indefinately longer and I would not need insurance or a new TV for any of my electrical appliances. Therefore Insurance is waiver against maintenance payments. Discovery is a ****. I am moving away from Discovery.
