Discovery Insure Incompetence

My wife logged a vehicle insurance claim with Discovery Insure on 7 March 2022.

It’s 22 March and her damaged car is still standing in the garage – while she’s trying to get the full amount of the Panelbeater quotation approved for repairs.

She was referred to Sentraal Bakwerke Panelbeaters in Malmesbury – who submitted an official quotation to Discovery Insure on 08.03.2022. She was told that the quotation for the repairs of the vehichle was R7 560,02 (about 25% of the official quotation by the panelbeater).

The quotation by the Panelbeaters was completely ignored/ disregarded and nobody has been able to confirm where the quotation of R7 560,02 came from.

She has been trying to make contact with the team lead of the vehicle insurance team since 11.03.2022, but communication has been shocking.

Worst motor vehicle claim experience she’s ever had and she’s still trying to get the full amount for the repairs approved – 16 days later!!

I would think twice before I insure any vehicles at Discovery Insure.
