Discovery Insure ill treated me, I'm 5months pregnant
I had insured my samsung A50 on 18th June 2020, on the 28th June the phone was damaged when my dog jumped out the back of our bakkie and a passing motorist then further caused damage to said device. Now at claim stage I am treated like a ******** by the validations person - Vusi. 1. I had placed my simcard into another phone on 17th June, I dont understand how this simcard affects the insured device as I insured the A50 which was in perfect working condition. 2. At no stage during adding the additional item to the policy or in the wording does it make mention that an insured device must have a registered simcard in at all times. - I have another cellphone insured which i do not make use of - will this same scrutiny be app**** if anything happens to this device. 3. I was placed on a conference call with Vodacom to confirm when the A50 was last 'used' in terms of network activity 4. I explained to Vusi I dont like the directions of his questioning as this interrogating techniques as a method not to process claims is an old tale I am fami**** with when it comes to Discovery insure - Last month my Vehicle was in an accident and I had to provide my Gynecologists details and times of my appointment. 5. I am so tired of this sick process that is followed when it comes to such small claims, I am 5months pregnant and I must be put under such pressure of answering questions such as "which pocket did the cellphone fall out of" what nonsense is that? Ok sir, during the process of my dog jumping out of a moving vehicle I made a mental note which of the pocket so that I can let me insurer know, my dog's safety can wait while I process this. 6. Now my husband and I must provide a movement report from our service providers to ensure we were indeed where we said we were at the time of the incident - note that my husband is not the insured and has his own insurance. 7. The Discovery Insure validations process has undermined my integrity and made me feel like why should I pay money monthly to an insurer that constantly at claim stage treats me like ********.
