Discovery Insure generalizes my 'old' household item malfunction due from 'wear & tear' incorrectly, instead of power outage.

A few months ago, I was very impressed with Discovery Insure Vehicle assistance and posted a very positive review. I did so because I believe to give credit where credit is due. However, today I feel the opposite and feel that I should share my experience. My claim for an item was rejected on the basis of 'wear & tear'. Due to item being old, it was automatically assumed that it was 'wear & tear'. Yet item was in perfect working order but malfunctioned when there was a power outage in my area. Item was not worth alot, but its the principle of the matter that I am upset about. As it falls under home contents which I am paying for. So in essence, I am now led to believe that I should not submit a claim for any items which is 'old' on the basis that Discovery Insure is going to label it as a damage due to 'wear & tear' even if that's not the case.
