Discovery Insure dragging and not assisting on the Bumper issue
Discovery Insure not assisting and dragging the process
I was sent by Discovery Claims Department in July 2017 to take my vehicle to Classic Coachworks in Parow, and they fixed the Bumper as that was the only problem on the issue. Now on Saturday the 04th of Feb 2018, I noticed that my bumper has shifted a bit on the driver side it was out of its place; bear in mind there was no collision or what so ever. So on Monday I decided to check my receipt of Classic coachworks as they are the ones who repaired my vehicle. it states that there is 2 years Guarantee on the Repairs, 3 years paint guard warranty, 1 year parts manufacturer, and these conditions haven’t be met at all the fix is still under these stated years. I took my time and went to Parow to the panel beaters, only to find out the company has been closed and I called the “To Let” agent and he told me the company has liquidated and he gave me the liquidator number and the liquidator confirmed the news that the company has been liquidated in Nov 2017, and advised that I speak to the insurer as they will know what to do in this regard.
I called discovery million times and I have been sent around up until I spoke to Thabo Mohale who quickly helped by checking the assigned assessor who is Dane Pillay if I got the surname right, mind you this is all done on Monday, Tuesday I decided to call again as there was no feedback or what’s so ever, then Dane the assessor called and asked me if I can take the vehicle to CK Coachwork in Tygerberg where I will meet up with Malcom, and I did that and Malcom took pictures and all and said to me he doesn’t see any stretches the bumper is just teared up on the side and he will send the findings to Dane and he said even underneath the bumper there’s no sign that the bumper was stretched or something, bear in mind this was on Tuesday the 06th February 2018. I called the assessor which is Dane to check if Malcom has sent the report and he said yes he is still checking the report and he will send it to Discovery later that day, so I didn’t have a problem with that. The bumper is getting worse by the day that’s my worry, that’s why I keep on calling these guys because as the roads are not even this will cause the bumper tearing to spread more and more, so on Wednesday I called and I spoke to Ntombi who confirmed with Nelisiwe Khumalo on the Repairs Department if I am not mistaken, then Ntombi confirmed that the issue has been escalated to the VRM department where they are dealing with the issue and they will get in touch with me, wich they did not till the day ended. Today the 8th of Feb which is Thursday I called again and I was sent around up until spoke to Masego who assisted me and gave me Natashas Direct number who is dealing with the issue on the VRM side, she (Natasha ********** 166) promised to call me back as the matter is back to claims as they are deciding as to what to do, she promised to call back by the end of the day, she did not call I called at 4pm today there was not answer.
This is dragging a bit too long and this should be sorted as you guys sent me to a company that didn’t do a good job and a company that was about to be liquidated, now I am stuck with a teared bumper and getting loose by the day, whereas I paid for the job.
I am not letting this go, and will not encourage anyone to join discovery as this has been a nightmare since the beginning of the week till now nothing has happened. I’ve been a discovery client for years and now this is how you thank someone. Its appalling shem, bububhanxa. I’ve heard stories from people but now ndiyibona kum.
Thank you for taking my call.
As discussed I have escalated your concerns with the claims management team, I will provide feedback in due course.
