DISCOVERY INSURE "DRAG THEIR HEELS" WITH INSURANCE CLAIMS

My cellphone was ****** out of my coffee trailer on Saturday 26/11/2022. Immediately upon noticing that it was ******, I contacted Vodacom and blacklisted the phone and obtained an ITC number. I then went to the police station and logged a case. On the same day, I submitted a claim to Discovery Insure. On Sunday 27/11/2022, I received an email from Discovery Insure requesting the ITC number, the case number and proof of ownership of the phone which I duly submitted. On Tuesday, 29/11/2022, I contacted Discovery Insure to find out what was happening about my claim, first, only to be told that they were waiting for my documents to which I advised that I had submitted the required documents on Sunday 27/11/2022. I also never had any communication from the consultant who was allocated to my claim, Mpho Mamaregane, until I complained about the lack of communication from Discovery Insure. Late on Tuesday afternoon, I received an email from Mpho Mamaregane advising that my claim had been approved however, my phone was apparently insured by Discovery Insure for less than what the replacement value was but I had a choice of a Takealot voucher or a Makro voucher. I advised Mpho that I would prefer a Takealot voucher. It is now Friday, 02/12/2022 and to date, I still have not heard anything from Discovery Insure about my replacement cellphone. Discovery Insure advise that claims can be settled on the same day however, now nearly 5 working days later and still ............................NOTHING!!!

I cannot understand why a person always has to resort to complaints before any service is provided.
