Discovery Insure - Do not join them!
Ridiculous service! Submitted a claim through the App and after two days I am still yet to receive a call from them. When joining in April I was given an excess of R4000.00 only to find out it has now been pushed up to R5000.00 although I have never claimed before this. A 25% increase in under 5 months!! And although I was not in the wrong, I must still pay the excess only for them to claim from the 3rd parties insurance.

The excess amount is still applicable, as this is the first amount payable in respect to a claim. You may share the details of the third party with your claims consultant so that the claim may be referred to the Recoveries team to see if the excess can be waived.
