Discovery Insure bad service and worse contractors
I am insured with discovery insure. I made a claim for my geyser and subsequent damages. The contractor identified that the geyser, ceilings, electrical cables, walls and wooden flooring needed to be repaired in the bedroom, bathroom and passage. The contractor repaired the geyser but was not dispatched for the subsequent repairs. I had to call in a week later to find out what was going on. Discovery than dispatched the same contractor for the subsequent damages. They repaired the ceiling boards although not 100%, walls and flooring, I found a leak and it is visible on the wall. The cables they loosened were not properly replaced to the wall. The electrical wiring was not repaired. My lights keep tripping and I am afraid this can cause a fire.
The contractor was sent to me on Friday to evaluate my claims. His workers confirmed with me that the electrical work was not done. He said he could not find the leak in the roof however confirmed that there must be a problem when I showed them the wall and stain. I as well showed him the flooring and he confirmed with me that he had told his boss how the flooring is meant to be repaired but nothing was done about it.
I called my discovery broker and he suggested I open a new claim. I called in today and the consultant did a conference call while the contractor was denying ***ner) any wrong doing it seemed to me that the consultant cut the line (I hope by mistake) however the consultant did not return the call. This means I must call in again speak to another consultant and go through this whole headache again.
Why do we pay so much for insurance cover to have such bad service. I need to move away from discovery as it is clear that the customer is not important.
