Discovery Insure a rip-off
Having bought a second hand vehicle, I was informed by Discovery Insure that the vehicle needed to be inspected to confirm the details and condition.
My wife was told that she could go to Tiger Wheel and Tyre (TWT) or Glassfit. So, on Saturday, I went past TWT go get said inspection.
After the inspection, I was informed that I needed to pay R 95.00 for this inspection, SO THAT I CAN PAY MONTHLY PREMIUMS TO DISCOVERY!
Having paid over R 30000, per year to Discovery, the customer still needs to pay more, just to give my business to them!
This is a blatant rip-off.
At no time was my wife informed by Discovery, not Tiger Wheel and Tyre, AT THE OUTSET, that the customer would need to pay!
It is time for customers to move away from Discovery Insure and go to other insurance companies that do not seem to ******* the customer.
With respect to TWT (Cresta), it shows bad customer service, by not informing clients before hand, this would cost money. It further shows greed, which is highlighted in my report about them, where they indicated, verbally, that they try and sell new tyres to unsuspecting people with tyres that still have a tread of 3mm and above - and him doing me a favour - B- $#!+
We would like to sincerely apologise for any and all frustration caused by the incident described above. As discussed we have completed our investigation into the matter above and can confirm that the consultant who assisted your wife on the 18th of September 2015 confused the vehicle pre-inspection which is free of charge and done at Glasfit with the vehicle safety inspection that is done at Tiger Wheel and Tyre that costs R95.00.
In light of the above we will reimburse you for the amount of R95.00.
I have sent you an email with my details. Please reply to that email and attach a copy of the invoice so that I can process the reimbur*****t.
In terms of the complaint you have with Tiger Wheel and Tyre, I ask that you please send me a copy of your complaint and I will refer this to their management team.
