Discovery Insure

I was involved in a motor vehicle accident on 12 March 2020 with a Discovery Insure client. The client admitted guilt on the scene not only to me but to law enforcement officers, her mother via cellphone and other bystanders. I've submitted an unsuccessful third party claim for my damages. Discovery Insure informed me that I was liable and that the difference of damages was -R5 000 in my favour. I had to spent over R20k from March - August 2020 for my vehicle to be roadworthy again. I'm very unhappy with the way Discovery Insure treated me just because I'm a coloured male and its client was a white female. I'm of the opinion that I was racially discriminated against when I've submitted my claim.

Good day

Sincere thanks for your reply. Just to add that I had to take out microloans to pay for the repairs and in June and July I used my salaries to contribute to the repair costs. I'm still recovering from those massive expenses and my family suffered in the process. Lockdown has been difficult for everyone but in my case I really felt the full effect of lack of finances and struggle to make ends meet.

I'll await further communication from you.

Kind regards
Mr EF Bedja
