Discovery Insure 3rd party claim *******.

A lady insured with discovery insure reversed onto my van at a shopping centre. She gave us the insurance details so we contacted them and the requested a quotation. We got a quote to repair the van which came to R17000.00. Discovery sent us to Dals panel beaters in Goodwood who gave us a quote for R4900.00 fitting all cheap parts. My wife contacted Rozannah Singh (who does not return calls and has a poor way of handling claims) to tell her that its not acceptable to fit inferior parts. She said that the vehicle is more than 3 yrs old and also its a 3rd party claim. Its company policy to do that. I have a car insured with discovery plus my medical aid and a life insurance. After I have received this type of service from them ,I am actually thinking of moving my products to another company. I have called the ombudsman but they do not handle 3rd party complains. Now I have to engage an attorney which is a cost to me. I have dealt with Santam in the past and they have not hassled me even for a 3rd party claim. Discovery has a lot of frills but when it comes to a claim ,they hassle you. I also had a 3rd party claim with Indwe Risk services and the were very helpful.
