Discovery Insurance: Ref ***
Discovery ride on their name. In case of claim they want to settle me on the lowest quote they could get from a very poor substandard panalbeater. Panalbeater complaints for everyone to see on hellopeter.com but the want me to make use of him because he is the cheapest. That is NOT why I am paying high insurance premiums. I want my car to be repaired to the state it was before their client rearended my car. Took it up with them, only promised to look into it & come back. NOTHING.

Our indemnification process outlines as per below;
5.29 | Repairer or supplier of our choice.
We have the right to insist that any repair or replacement must be done at or by a repairer or supplier of our choice.
We will always endeavor to settle repairs at our own rate. The suppliers we make use of are part of our panel, therefore prices have been negotiated in advance in order to keep costs reasonable without compromising the safety and workmanship.
You do have an option to prompt the claims handler for a cash in lieu settlement.

30 Jul 2023, 17:04Till now still waiting "More will be communicated with you directly." They want me to take a much lesser amount than the damage caused by their client rearended my car. Furthermore, they want me to sign a document that I accept offered amount as full & final settlement, so any shortfall will be for my account. Offer me R22K for damage of more than R30k. The quote they used is a substandard panalbeater and got a bad name on hellopeter. Can't send my 3 week old car to such a panalbeater. Be aware of shortcuts DISCOVERY taking when you need payout.
