Discovery ***********s

I recently inquired about insuring new vehicle I am in the process of insuring which is a BMW 320i M sport which has a motor of 130KW, there is no difference between a non M sport package and a M sport package in regards to the engine output but just shows you how little the underwriters for discovery insure actually know about this. I was told by the consultant my insurance premium is as high as it is because I am under of 36 years of age and the vehicle I am wanting to purchase is considered a performance car with a high engine output and it is also required for me to take the DQ track so they can monitor my driving behavior because its a performance car. The M performance on the vehicle stands for the body kit on the vehicle as well as all the additional extras on the vehicle that doesnt come standard on a normal 320i but has got nothing to do with the engine output. I currently drive a 3,2 ford ranger XLT which is also insured through Discovery with an engine output of 147KW which is 17KW more than the BMW so I suppose it must be considered a super car then and the premium quoted on the BMW is almost R500 more. It really annoys me when people actually dont know what they talking about and due to this I will be cancelling my complete policy with Discovery Insure and take my business to a more competent insurance company who knows what they talking about.

I am still awaiting a manager from Discovery to back to me regarding my complaint as I will need cover by next week on the vehicle as I believe based on my complaint I have been over quoted on the premium due the lack of knowledge from Discovery side regarding what M sport stands for.
