Discovery Claim Rejected...Dont trust brokers!

Its almost 2 months after my vehicle was in an accident on the 15 Feb. My claim was assessed on the 20th and I received a mail from my claims consultant Bianca Petersen that the assessment was done and that it was un-economical to repair. I was told that the claim was going to pay out R60500 on their assessment report which was done according to their Transunion valuations. I wasn't happy with it and got my own valuation report and send it to Bianca to explain to me why there was such a big difference in the amounts. This was on the 21 Feb and the reply was that she was off sick. I called the call center and eventually spoke to another consultant, but the call was dropped and I emailed them to call me back. On the 25 Feb *** called me and explained to me that the amount will be adjusted and the payout will be R83000. They were just waiting for my original natis papers and for me to sign the Notice of change of ownership still. I managed to get all the documents from Wesbank and send everything to Bianca on the 6 March but didnt receive a response at all until 18th March. I called and every time someone would call me back but nothing. Not once did they tell me that my claim wont be paid anymore, I only received a mail on the 26 March telling me that the claim was rejected and that I should collect my car after the lock down due to lapsed cover all of a sudden.

I was aware that there was a issue with my debit order being returned end Jan I did email Discovery to make a eft payment but didn't get a response. I also spoke to my broker and she assured me more than 10 times that there wont be an issue with the claim and that she did speak to Discovery and wont affect my claim. She said they sorted the payment issue out with Discovery and that she manually lapsed my policy and reinstated it to be able for them to take a immediate debit order from my account. I just received a new policy number and she told me not to worry. My broker is also trying to fight this from her side and is still waiting for feedback. I have all my calls recorder between me and even my broker and somewhere there was definitely a huge communication gap between their claims and my broker as well. What they told me telephonically is not what happened in the end.

I have 5 vehicles insured with Discovery, Home building and content insurance, Life cover and Business Liability insurance with them. After this they will definitely loose me as a loyal client.

I will lodge a complain with the Ombudsman. I was aware of this that's why I was in constant talks with my broker about the 2nd debit order and she assured me more than 10times that there wont be a issue with the claim, She manually lapsed my policy and when I asked her about that she told me that I don't have to worry at all my claim was approved and shat she is in talks with Discovery(or she thought so because the vehicle was assessed)

I have all my call with her recorder and not once did anyone ask for them so I am thinking that she gave me the wrong info and assurance so maybe the Ombudsman will listen to my calls and if she has failed me I will also lay a complaint against her.
