Discovery Car Insurance Review

<p>So I requested car insurance on a vehicle I was going to purchase. I gave all the information and my bank details to ensure my car was insured that day...</p> <p> </p> <p>The car purchase fell through and I phoned to cancel that same day. The consultant suggested I push the start date of the policy into the future so that my "insurance rating" would not be affected... So I took the advise under the assumption I would purchase a car in the next couple of weeks. Apparently if you take out insurance and cancel that insurance your "insurance rating" is affected negatively.</p> <p> </p> <p>The next day the insurance premium was debited off my account. This was a Saturday.</p> <p> </p> <p>Needless to say, I emailed the consultant on the Monday to express my concern, he said that he would put me through to the department in charge of refunds. I spoke to a lady and she told me that the debit orders had gone to the bank to be processed ... unfortunately. I asked for a refund and she put me through to another department. The consultant informed me that he could only see R90 taken of my account. I told him it was R617.36. He said then I would have to provide proof of this amount......</p> <p> </p> <p>I also asked him to cancel this policy that had a future start date. I also asked him for an email to prove cancellation. He said of course. But I have yet to receive this notifcation.</p> <p> </p> <p>The saga continues.......</p>
