Discovery and AVIS team up with poor service delivery

My Mazda was towed in for repairs through Discovery Car Insurance on the 1st Feb 2019. To date, I have not received any feedback from Discovery on the progress of the repairs to my car. i have called many times to followup, all the "promise to call back" calls where never received.

On Wednesday the 13th March 2019, i received a call from the panel beaters to say my car was ready for collection. I arrange to collect my car, only to find a dent not fixed, so i left my car and was told it will be ready by Friday the 15th of March.

I have to date not received a call from either Discovery or the Panel Beaters.

After reminding Discovery that my cover allowed me to receive a hired vehicle through Discovery. AVIS delivered a car to me on the 8th Feb. i signed a rental agreement with an additional R15 cover for damages. and collected the car 10th March, with a cracked windscreen and half tank petrol. without any explanation, or any type of communication, they deducted R6050.30 from my account.

I find it extremely frustrating how easy it is for Discovery to demand that i pay my insurance on time, but when it comes to service delivery, they are so laid-back, inconsiderate to their customers time and money. i had a pic of the accident to proof that the dent on the car was caused by the accident. i have an insurance company that forces me to play detective.

AS for AVIS, they very kindly delivered a vehicle, secured my account details by putting a R1450 hold on my account and then like a robot debited my account R6050.30 without any communication....their business motto "first let us take your money then if you query it, we will explain".

the unfortunate part is we need car insurance, we need car hire but its all about taking and no interest in service delivery.
