Discovering the worst.

I’ve been a client of Discovery sins 2017 and recently had an incident (my first claim). I drove over a peace of rubber on the highway and as a consequence of that I had an engine mounting break on my car, later that evening I got stuck on the side of the road and got in contact with their emergency call center long story short after waiting for almost two hours with two hungry kids in the back the tow truck finely arrived. The next morning when I phoned In to register the claim thy informed me that they have no knowledge of the tow, this is where my problems started, I had to first send them the details of the towing service. Thy came and towed my vehicle on the 4th of July to take it to their service provider for assessing, I was informed that this would start the following week, the car was towed from one service provider to the next with no assessing being done. More than a week later I got a phone call from one of their assessors Paul Weber informing me that I was cancelled by Miway back in 2010 and that I’m now seen as a moral risk, I tried to explain to him that it’s not true but he had a no care attitude and seemed to be more excited that thy now found something to dispute my claim. It was now my responsibility to get the correct information from Miway which I did after a week of fighting with them. After all of that thy then informed me that there assessors don’t have the technical knowledge and thy need to get an expert in to assess the damage and that my claim would be presented in front of a forum. This morning 30th of July I received an email stating that my claim was rejected due to their expert saying that it was caused due to wear and tear and this was discussed with me by Paul Weber, ironically it was never discussed with me before the email was send. It is clear that Discovery would do anything in their power to dispute claims, thy would even go so far as to spend more money on experts and reports then to pay out a R7000 claim (Amazing to think that a company like this are still in business) So after three weeks of waiting for a simple answer I now found myself stranded. I have to say that this has been the worst experience of my life and I would strongly sagest that that you think twice before insuring with Discovery.
