Discover Insures sucks when it comes to communications and resolving issues

I've finally had it! If I could give a rating lower than 1 start, I surely would have.

Discovery Insure must be the worst company to deal with as far as customer service goes. I'm moving my insurance policy from them, even if it will cost me more, which it will not since I've already a number received alternative quotes in the time I was struggling to get my issues resolved with them. Here's my story: 1) We had a power surge claim. That in itself went fine and was handled efficiently. The problem is that part of the claim was a 10 year old PS3. After the replacement PS3 was delivered, I could not load my games onto it because it did not have enough storage space. Turns out that I got given the smallest device (12GB PS3 slim). The 12GB model was only released 3 years ago and I know the one they took away had more than 12GB of storage space. I reported this to Discover in mid-March. It's now mid-June and I've not had a single call back, feedback, email or carrier ***eon message from DI. I've now phoned 10+ times, spoken to multiple support staff and nothing! I've even had it escalated and got hold of one of the managers (Vanessa) who promised she would get back to me before the end of the day (I've got the recorded call). That was last week Wednesday. Eight days later I'm still waiting. I've called her direct line (that she gave me) every day since Monday and it just rings. 2) I elected for the specified items on my policy, to specify a maximum loss value to reduce my premium and also because nobody wears all their jewelry at the same time. Anyway, after the changes were app**** to the policy, I noticed that the premium was not not adjusted. I phoned backed and the agent checked and confirmed that there is a problem on their system. It does not apply the correct premium adjustments. It was referred to their technical dept (ref#: QC250341) to sort out. This was on 2020-05-22, three weeks later it's still not sorted out and I've had a single mail from discovery to say that they are working on it. I've phone multiple times to follow up and while the agents were very courteous and helpful, it is still not sorted. 3) I wanted to moved a number of the specified jewelry items to a general category which would have a big impact on the premiums. According to the agent this cannot/should not be done. I proved to the agent that it is allowed according to the DI insure documentation. This was then again referred to some internal department to look at the wording of their documentation. This was almost 4 weeks ago and I received a single email to say that they are working on it. Other than that, nothing!

In summary, Discovery Insure's communication utterly sucks. It is almost impossible to get hold of someone to escalate and when you do, they ghost you.

My advise, stay away from DI. There are better alternatives out there and their premiums and co-payments are better to boot.
