DISCOVER INSURE IS A JOKE

Discovery insure is a joke guys.

This is official Complaint notice i sent on the 1st of June 2023. they are still fumbling around to answer me. I AM UPSET. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Seeing that Discovery Insure through its processes and stakeholders has made its position clear on how to handle this case and my claim and the protection of this relationship, I will be escalating to all the official bodies and going public now.

As it stands:

1. This company has exposed me, a client, to internal *******ion and ******ion through your 3rd party suppliers, who have ****** almost R2000 worth of my personal stuff, and intentionally, unbeknown to me, ******ed R1000 from me on top of that for bogus fees for towing my car from the incident scene on a flatbed. Your company was informed of this due to the same 3rd party supplier who continued this ******ion and tried to **** me and got his friends to falsely present themselves as Discovery Insure Assessor. Further to that they made threats and demanded additional payment from me to do their job. This 3rd party supplier also went further and tried to sabotage my case by lying to the inspector. This has left me with a trauma response and daily concern for my life as this man is not someone who I would call stable enough not to pursue retribution for being exposed. Every grey tow truck triggers thoughts of fear and anxiety, something I will have to deal with because of your company's negligence and failure to protect me from such things as a client.

2. The claim was registered on the 29th of April; it is now the 7th of June, and it has not been resolved. I have had to pay 2 full instalments for a car I don't have (May and June), understandably all instalments assist in lowering the settlement amount but because of the delay I am bleeding money that I don't have. Payment for a car that I do not use is a lot to throw away in support of your processes. My understanding is that comprehensive cover means that from the moment of incident my insurance takes over, but instead, I have had to wait almost 2 weeks for you guys to conclude the assessment, inspections, and investigation at the cost of me paying a full month of insurance and instalment in May 2023 and a now another full month instalment for the car for June. This isn't what I signed up for. Discovery was supposed to act immediately, intentionally, and precisely to ensure that time is not wasted, resources are not over stretched, and my money and contribution is minimal as I pay my cover premium with the same attitude and proactively. I ensure that you are protected in our relationship by making every effort to reduce your inconvenience when it comes to collecting the funds you need to cover me comprehensively. I feel cheated, dismissed, and unvalued in this whole process where suddenly you guys hold the cards and determine the length, duration, and measures in which you will react and respond to my life changing and traumatising experience.

3. This matter has now been further complicated by the fact that you now say, comprehensive cover is not actually comprehensive cover. I know for fact that on the 13th of February, I called and spoke to a lovely consultant who entertained my every demand and structured my insurance package to fit my pocket as I asked for full cover, comprehensive insurance that covers everything, specifically telling them that this new car must be fully covered for every eventuality. I want the recording for the day. This makes me very upset as the option for a gap cover or short fall cover is nowhere on your websites and is not a readily available option for your customers leaving us disadvantaged and at the mercy of the competency of your consultants and salespeople. This was not communicated to me nor was I told that retail value (described as the highest amount to pay for the car in the event of any incident) does not say that it is not the amount a client bought the car for, but rather the amount you value the car on the day of settlement. WHAT! comprehensive must be comprehensive. Cover is cover. I have had insurance for 11 years, and none have ever come to me with this nonsense. THIS IS WRONG and I did not move my entire insurance portfolio over to the discovery group of companies to be cheated and ******ed. If this is the way insurance works, I wonder what I will find out with vitality, Medical, invest, Life cover, Pensions, and banking.

4. The courtesy car has been taken from me and I now have no way to move around. My job requires me to be mobile and I am not. This matter is now spilling over into my professional life, affecting, and impacting my Job and daily performance. 30 days have lapsed with this matter not resolved and you guys have the right to take away the courtesy car from me, without resolving my claim or queries. How fair is that?? You get to protect your vested interests and I am left to suffer? In conclusion: Discovery Insure has lost my trust and respect and this is an official complaint. How am I supposed to get around? How am I supposed to buy a new vehicle? How am I supposed to move on with my life? How do I survive? How do I get to work? Do you guys think of all these things before you make a decision like this? I am poorer this month because of your delay, I still need to pay you access, I had to pay for the courtesy car. I had R1000 ****** from me by your suppliers, I am probably going to pay another months instalment because the debit order wasn't withdrawn on time. I have paid a full month's insurance and instalment for a car you had the whole of May. I have had almost R2000 worth of ****** property because of you and your suppliers.

ABOVE ALL THIS YOU WANT TO LEAVE ME WITH A STATEMENT AFTER YOU SETTLE WHAT YOU CALL COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I CANNOT LET THIS FLY.

I BLAME DISCOVERY INSURE AT THIS POINT FOR THE ******ION, NEGLIGENCE, MISREPRESENTATION OF PRODUCT, FALSE PRODUCT SALE AND DELIBERATE DELAYS.

Your official response. I need answers now!!

NO one in your team has communicated the above, from the manager to claims consultant.
I want to know what exactly Discover is covering? The settlement for the vehicle is R272000 as per the bank. I have received a letter from you saying that you are paying R206000 towards the settlement because i did not have short fall cover or gap cover as. My Question is how did not have these additional features as I made it clear that the vehicle must be covered in full for all eventualities and possible problems. I specifically said this in the call where I asked for cover for the vehicle. My expectation is that there are no issues or short falls as I instructed my insurer to cover me properly. I am only informed of the gap on the days before settlement.

I need us to be really truthful here. if you are selling cover is it not your responsibility to ensure you communicate all your short comings and limits to your client?? Are you not suppose to make it a point to inform us that your cover needs additional Covering???
