Discover Insure
On the 16th of February 2018, I "activated" a new policy effective 1 April 2018 with Discovery Insure. Debit order arranged to go on the 25 or 26th March 2018. On the 26th February 2018, I emailed the consultant to cancel. On the 13th of March, no response to my mail, so I sent another email and called to cancel. I was politely referred to the retentions department who confirmed they couldn't offer me better rates, so I cancelled again. This time I spoke to a gentleman who confirmed that he will try and assist me to keep me as a client, I confirmed that I already gone that route and they couldn't do anything. He confirms that he will attempt once more, in the telecon I advise that I am afraid I will run out of time to cancel the debit order. His response "you have until the end of next week to cancel the debit order" this date would be the 23rd of March. I sent an email on the 14th of March as I have not heard from anyone yet, in my email I am clear about stopping the debit order so my active policy with another company may go off. I get a response from the consultant acknowledging my email. On the 26th, yesterday, I get an sms that Discovery have debited my account. I call this morning to be told that I have to stop the debit order on my side to ensure that the money is reflected back in my account as the new insurance is due for debit order instruction.
