Discover for Yourself

Discovery Insure was called to provide their contractual duty of providing me with Road Side Assistance. I required a jump start of my vehicle and the service provided did not agree with my car's electronics which subsequently resulted in the control unit failing. Discovery Insure takes no accountability for the incident as it appears that they do not provide the service, all they did was make a call out. Furthermore, no courtesy car would be provided due to their not being an accident or any body damage to the vehicle, albeit undriveable.

After a week of trying to obtain the correct route to take on formalising a complaint I managed an e-mail to the operational manager for motor claims. Her response was cc'ing me in an E-mail sent to EuropAssistance who they deem responsible. EuropAssistance now deem the towing company responsible for the jump start liable for the damages.

I have no relation whatsoever with the towing company. Is it not Discovery Insure's duty to ensure quality, professional services to their clients? I am now sitting with a hefty R 35 000 bill to cover the components damaged and there has been no movement on Discovery Insure's side towards recourse.
