DISAPPOINTMENT WITH DISCOVERY INSURE

I always believed Discovery Insure to be a reputable car insurance company but sadly they not anymore. I'm actually gobsmacked. I received a 21% increased in my premiums which was effective February 2024. On top of that they also over debited my account by R229.85 for my January premium. I have requested a refund for the over charge. Will see what feedback I get on the this query. There has been many negative reviews about Discovery recently and I'm beginning to lose faith in them. They seem to have dropped the ball. They have found devious ways to ******* their clients. I lived in Phoenix for 41yrs but I had to move to Merebank in April 2022 due to new employment and then had to move back to Phoenix in Oct 2023 due to unforseen circumstances. I requested for my residential address to be changed on the policy. I was told that my premium will increase due to the area and the looting that happened in Phoenix. This was like a R400.00 increase. Doesn't make sense to me. Nowhere in SA is it safe. I've lived in Phoenix, Durban since childhood. I bought my car in Oct 2018 when I lived in Phoenix. Also stayed in Phoenix during the looting in July 2021 so why the need to increase my premium when I was just away from Phoenix for 1year 6 months. Well obviously I contested the increase as i thought it was absurd. These insurance companies are just a money making scheme. They charge us high premiums but how often do we use the cover or benefits. Discovery Insure, you are a disappointment. Focus on customer satisfaction and keeping your clients happy.
