Disappointed by Unreasonable Claim Rejection

Very disappointed with the handling of my insurance claim. My washing machine door seal came off during normal use while doing laundry. The rubber seal is NOT torn, damaged, or perished — it simply detached. Yet my claim was rejected on the basis of “wear and tear,” with the conclusion that the machine is “worn out.”

I find this unfair and disappointing. There is a difference between an item deteriorating over time and a component suddenly failing or coming loose during normal use. Dismissing the claim without properly considering this feels unreasonable.

As a paying customer, I expected a fair assessment and clearer explanation rather than a blanket “wear and tear” rejection.

Very frustrating experience. If you wanna insure your home contents don’t do it with discovery it’s a ****. Will also be moving my car insurance cause they will possibly do same thing on the car. What a horrible experience.
