I'm writing this in the hope that everyone interested in having comprehensive insurance to stay far away from Discovery insurance. They are the worst and will not honor their sales talk. Please just refrain from ever taking out anything from the discovery group. I had medical, which I canceled beginning May 2022, I have life cover as well other products including short-term comprehensive insurance with them wich i also plan on canceling asap. I plan on canceling all these as they will ***** you over any chance they get. My partner recently had her car written off and it was in mint condition, for the year model as we kept it clean, fully serviced as well as it having 80k on the clock with not so much as a scratch or ripped seat. It was the top spec model with the panoramic roof and it was a very desirable model and it sold for a certain amount especially because these were hard to find in this condition. She was insured for retail value because we were told that if it got ****** or written off we would be given the price for what it sells at the dealership. This is far from the truth and they will tell you that they don't look at that they apparently work with Transunion which is not a dealership. They asked for proof that the car is going for much more than what they were offering so I sent them the proof, still, nothing was told to us that they are not looking at dealerships but TransUnion only. The insurance was sold to her and told to her that it is what the value of the car would be if she bought a similar one with the same condition and mileage as well as full service history. They are a bunch of ******. DON'T EVER JOIN ANYTHING DISCOVERY. They want to give my partner R20k. What can we do with that? We can't even get the same year model car with over 200k, a lesser specced model for that as a deposit. She is now having to buy whatever she can get for that. Is that fair?. Is it what she paid for? Is it retail price? These guys will ***** you over too, trust me. I kind of thought I will give them a chance again but they have proven to be the **** of the earth and don't give a rats ass about you when you try and call, communicate or get what is only what you signed up and paid for. We will be taking this further as this is just not right. Discovery you are a bunch of cons, the people that work there as well. We have been on the phone seriously every day and we just can't get anyone to give us an answer. We were given excuse after excuse. I will continue this enlightenment of the bad service and empty promises. You must decide if you want to go with them for yourself but believe me they will ***** you over as they did with us. This is not a rant, its the truth, Try them for yourself.
