Delay after Delay

Claim number **********
Please contact me for full details of all delays experienced. We are sitting 2 weeks down the line and we are still trying to get additionals authorised so part can be ordered which needs to come from Germany and so will take 2 and a half to 3 weeks.
This will not be a problem with car hire expiring. I feel Discovery need to accept some responsibility for the delays and extend car hire.

In the 2 weeks this claim has taken so far I have never once been able to speak to Simon Farisane who was allocated to my claim. After speaking to someone else earlier today they spoke to Simon and he absolutely promised to give me feedback today but now it is 17:45 and nothing.

The car started off going to wrong repairer, Took a week to get a quote which they failed to send to Discovery. Another 2 days to get it towed to the correct repairer. Initial repairer now quoted for wrong part and now we are waiting for additionals to be approved for correct part to be ordered which needs to come from Germany and will take up to 3 weeks.

Well no one contacted me back as usual. Simon sent me a mail at 10:00 saying he would give me feedback today but it is now 16:45 and no one has contacted me so a waste of yet another day. These are the delays that just seem to never end with Discovery. I have no myself contacted Discovery and what a surprise Simon is not available yet again. Spoke to Thobile and she promised a manager would contact me today. I absolutely sincerely hope this will happen!

Actually mananged to get a hold of a manager, Charlene. She promised to follow up on the claim and get back to me between 08:00 and 09:00 this morning and send me an email with her contact details. Well no surprise neither of those happened and cannot get a hold of her. So the managers there are just as useless.

We apologise for the delay in getting back to you in the time promised.

Charlene and Simon have advised that they have been in contact with yourself and the service provider, to escalate the authorisation and to get confirmation of the order for the additional parts.

Best regards,

An extension to the car hire was finally approved on Friday but not sufficient. When I lodged the claim I was told turnaround time for a quote and assessment to be done so that it could be approved and work started was 2-3 days. Well the assessment was only completed and parts ordered after 17 Days. Yet car hire was only extended by 5 days. How is that fair. Now I will be without a vehicle and have no way of getting to work for at least a week but probably closer to 2 weeks. How is that fair. I sent emails and left messages for Simon or Charlene to contact me but as usual nobody bothers to even phone me. I am so sick and tired of being ignored.

On top of that even though car hire was approved for 5 extra days, they have not contacted Avis to extend it because yet again nobody does their job.

I also requested to Charlene that my claim be taken away from Simon and handed over to someone else but they requested was also ignored.

I don't think I have ever received such terrible service in my life and I am really starting to consider if I should stay with Discovery after this
