Damaged car bumper replaced with pirate part

My VW Polo was in a motor accident and Discovery Insure approved the repair of the vehicle by a panel beater. On investigation of the progress the panel beater informed me that the bumper does not fit because it is not a genuine VW part, i.e. it is a pirate part.
