Damage in claim not finalised in more than 11 months

We instituted a claim in August 2017 for a pipe that burst and that damaged our wooden floors in all our rooms. The insurance accepted the claim and a contractor was appointed. The contractor could not do the work himself so he subcontracted another company SAFloors to do the work. Due to the fact that the subcontractor had to do the work we only had our floors done in November 2017. We had to leave our house for over a week for them to do the work as it was in all our rooms. This was already and issue for us but we did not make this Discoveries problem.

We then moved back in and within the first week, we saw that there were already issues with the new floors. We informed the contractor more weeks passed nothing happened. On the 9th of January 2018, I informed the claims consultant Auriella that we were having issues. She referred the matter back to the contractor.

A fight ensued between the contractor and the subcontractor as to who should pay for the floors to be redone. In the meantime, due to bad service, I canceled my Discovery policy even with the fact that this claim had not been finalised. This week on the 9th of July the subcontractor started working on our floors again. It was again not done correctly so they stopped halfway but we could not live in the house the whole week. They made promises to come today but again they have excuses. This is not my problem but I have no agreement to hold them accountable to because Discovery chose the contractor in the first place. I am holding Discovery responsible for these problems we have and if we have to move from the house again I will hold you liable for payment of alternative accommodation.
