On July 9th, 2024, I was involved in a vehicle accident in Gansbaai. What was initially a stressful situation has since turned into a nightmare.

After reporting the incident to Discovery, I was asked to provide photos of the damage through a local panel beater in Gansbaai. The quote I received was for R15 000.00. However, without consulting me, Discovery subsequently obtained a quote from a panel beater in Mossel Bay for R12 000.00. They now expect me to travel over 600 km from Gansbaai to Mossel Bay and back to have my car repaired. To make matters worse, without my consent or agreement, Discovery paid R7 000.00 into my bank account as a full and final settlement. My access payment is R5000.00. This will cost me the access of R5000 plus travelling costs to and from Mossel Bay, plus accommodation for at least three nights. In spite of numerous calls to their call centre to try and explain the situation nothing has been done, it is now 14 days and my car is still not fixed.
