Claim Nearly a Year Old - Discovery Now Abandoning Attempts

<p>I was crashed into by a young man in October 2016 and it is now August 2017 and my excess has still not be refunded. It was a super ***** start with the father of the young man somehow getting hold of my contact details from the SAP (?) and trying to bully me out of claiming from insurance. I have had to follow up with Discovery for nearly a year and now receive what I can only conceive as a joke (see below email). If you have a legal team and a country with a standard legal system, this shouldn't be the case.</p> <p><strong>Discovery, this is not on. </strong>Do you not think there is an obvious reason why the sheriff was unsuccessful? The third party has played dirty from the word go. </p> <p> </p> <p>"The third party did not proceed with the claim against your policy and has since not approached us. We had in fact pursued the action against them by instructing our attorneys to serve summons on them. Unfortunately the sheriff of the court was not successful in serving the summons after several attempts.</p> <p>We are left with no other option but to abandon our attempt to recover damages from the other party.</p> <p>We trust the above is in order. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries regarding this matter."</p>
