Careless and VERY expensive - loyal customer no more.
I wish Discovery Insure employed the same enthusiasm for assisting me in removing my DTrack tracking device after I cancelled my insurance with them as they did for retention and care.
I've been with Discovery Insure for many years, and after recently discovering that I might be over-paying for my car insurance I gave them a call to see if they could help me out and possibly lower my premium. The response ****erally) I got on the phone was "...eish my brother, I think you should just cancel, there's nothing we can do." - wonderful.
After confirming my new insurance (which was literally R1,210 LESS per month with a popular competitor), I called Discovery again to remove my vehicle from their records and my insurance portfolio. Zero questions as to why, zero attempt to retain me as a loyal customer, and good thing I confirmed at what date the policy would be amended and my car would be no longer covered with them, as I almost went 2 weeks with no cover.
Utterly disappointed and truly sad that I had to be ********** for so long before I discovered I was paying too much, and then to be discarded like that after so many years of loyal support. Unbelievable.
Thank you for the response, although I won't hold my breath for the "escalation", which too in the past hasn't gone anywhere.
It also feels like too little too late. I had repeated calls with your team about my insurance, which involved requesting reviews, switching to market and / or trade value on my vehicle, and the calls mentioned above. More than 4 opportunities to listen and rectify, all of which went unnoticed.
I'll update my reply here should any updates follow.
