Car hire issue

I insured my car with discovery insure, it’s an automatic which I bought for health reasons to make my life easier. I was home for the weekend and it was raining my car slipped and hit a stone which cracked the bumper. I claimed for the car and upon claiming for a car hire I was told I can only get a manual. I insured and during the call it was never discussed that when I claim I can only get a manual. I should at least been informed so I’m afforded the opportunity to either decline this or accept. Your insurance is supposed to accommodate you as the customer but in this case all I gather is a take it or leave it situation. It’s upsetting that I cannot be accommodated and all I’m told is it’s as per the fine print of their insurance. Me insuring an automatic does not guarantee an automatic car hire. And all I want is an automatic car that will take me from point A to point B it does not matter the grade as they group them according to grades. nothing is ever seamless with these insurances there always has to be an issue.

Good day,

I appreciate your prompt response but I was not afforded the opportunity to either agree to this or not if it were to have an impact on my premium. Which I didn’t mind to pay more but this was not disclosed to me at the time that this would be an issue for me.
If this is the case I’ll quote elsewhere and cancel the insurance all at once because I don’t suppose any of this is fair for something I was not aware of. I’m already paying for a lot car hire money and excess which I don’t mind but now you adding more for the automatic car hire at my cost? I don’t see how this is helping me in any kind of way.
