Car Hire is a hidden cost (not free at all)

I am in the process of claiming from Discovery (994413) and I am disgusted to say the least, at how much ambiguity lies in the Car Hire process Discovery Insure says is free. I took on car insurance with Discovery but apparently, this 'free Car Hire' service is not free after all. <br> <br> I have been advised that I will need to pay a refundable fee of R1,200 to Avis or whoever does their rental and that the car has to be returned to AVIS with a full petrol tank. What a load of jargon? So what exactly is free here if the car has to be returned with a full tank after holding my R1,200?. I have had pleasant experiences with Discovery Insure in the past, but this is just unacceptable. There are a number of insurance companies out there and if they have to sugar coat their free Car Hire phrase, they should just cancel it, as it is not worth it. Paying for what is free????? Their adverts in this regard are exploitative and not clear cut. I pay my premiums so I have to pay for this 'free Car hire service' too? It is just ridiculous. I will definitely be re-looking my relationship with Insure as this whole free car hire thing was just a lure.
