Cancelling a policy seems impossible

So, got my documents today to say that Discovery will be increasing my premiums. I called around and got a cheaper quote. I phone Discovery to cancel my policy..... They are very quick to answer the phone until you say you want to cancel. They then proceed to tell you to please hold for retensions. I called 2 times but had to hang up after 20 minutes of holding.... This does not make we want to be retained, now I am even more determined to cancel!
