Biggest Mistake to Move from Outsurance to Discovery Insure

I was called by a gentleman who introduced himself as Thebani from the CO office in relation to numerous issues I have experienced with Discovery Insure. He was supposed to listen to voice recordings from when I initially signed with Discovery to determine whether or not I had specified that both vehicles insured under my policy had been fitted with smash and grab film on all windows - yes, going back to listen to voice recordings over approximately R250 to replace my right-rear window with smash and grab film! He promised to call me back on Thursday, 19 Oct 2017 at 10h00. I am still waiting.

I have cancelled the claim with Discovery Insure and replaced the window at my own cost because I simply cannot wait for Discovery Insure while I drive around without a window after my car was broken into on 30 Sept 2017. In doing so, I realised that it was an absolute pleasure dealing with PG Glass Old Fort Road and wondered why I bothered trying to claim for this in the first place.

When I reported the incident on 30 Sep, the claims consultant said I had to pay an excess of R750 despite my policy displaying a nil excess on glass replacements. I, then, called the sales team to query and the sales consultant confirmed that a nil excess was payable. She emailed screenshots of their system to the claims consultant - sales arguing with claims with me in copy on the emails without anyone actually resolving the issue!

I would strongly suggest not looking to Discovery Insure for short-term insurance. If my minor incident could not be resolved and wasted hours of my time, one can only imagine the additional trauma Discovery Insure would add to an already traumatic and serious insured event!
