Bad service from Discovery Insure and its service providers

I lodged a claim with Discovery Insure on 5 August 2024 for a faulty solar geyser system, handled by Tshepo Kekane. QuickFix Plumbers was appointed to replace the entire system in August 2024. Less than a year later, in July 2025, the system failed again. A QuickFix technician confirmed faults with the thermostat and element, but QuickFix claimed these parts were “out of warranty” because they were manufactured in 2023/2024 — despite only being installed in August 2024. Warranty should run from the installation date, not the manufacturing date, and clients should not be disadvantaged by outdated stock. Despite multiple emails and calls (on 23, 29, 30 July; 14, 21, and 28 August 2025), Discovery has only informed me that the supplier, Kwikot, would contact me - to date, no calls received. No one takes accountability, no resolution is provided, and I am left with a defective system that should still be under warranty when I reported the issue in July 2025. Discovery Insure must take responsibility instead of deflecting to suppliers and provide the service and protection its clients expect.

One phone call and one email received from Discovery Insure without any resolution. Terrible and frustrating service. The next step is to raise this issue with the Consumer Protector.
