Bad Quoting Service and Pricing

8am on the 20th October 2016, I called Discovery Insurance to request a requote from my current insurer with a few adjustments with the attempt to consolidate my services under one hub, i.e. Life Insurance, Vitality, Health Insurance and Discovery Card and now the addition of Home and Household Insurance request.

I ended up speaking to Reshika and asked if I can send her the current insurance with a few adjustments and requested a requote, she said all good and I received a blank mail with her details to send the info which I did at 10am.

So Thursday came and I waited and ended up calling in towards the afternoon I believe because I wanted to finalise the quote. I ended up speaking to a male (name I can't remember) and noted I'm still waiting for a quote, he then said he sees a quote was done for +-R1500 (which is R650 more than what I'm currently paying for the same service).

He noted he would ask Reshika and the quoting team to recost and come back with a better option. Today I called in again (6 days later) and I spoke to another mail who noted he would ask Reshika to call me back with more info.

I finally get my first call and the EXCUSE is their system didn't send any quotes. From a customer service orientated business, I had no follow up's for my request. When I did receive my first email response it was a blank email with the missing quotes, then I responded and asked why it's so high and is there any outcome? She replies with a "Hi" not Hi Warren, or proper email ettiquette and it's a blatent cold responce with no real interest in assisting me at all.

I'm disgusted with the customer service received and I'm totally shocked that having so many services under one hub has no influence or consideration to any new added products. On average I spend almost R4000 per month already with this company but I guess it's too little to be more than a policy number and maybe be called by my name.

Shame on you and your services. I'll start planning my move away from Discovery.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you fell about your service experience with our sales division.

Indeed, the sales team is the first point of contact for new business and they are expected to be welcoming, as we have set out in our standards for our clients (new and old).

We are therefore very sorry for the unprofessional experience.
