Bad Claim Experience

In the month of April 2021, I had an attempted hijacking and had to flee from the scene as my life was in danger. It took me 4-5 days trying to locate my vehicle which I did after calling numerous towing companies.

Least not to say that the collision alert of Discovery was off no help even though one pays for it. Because I am a Broker and know the process of claiming, I decided to move my car to my own panel beater and storage. First Help in Boschmont, who are contracted to Discovery recovered my vehicle and charged me R11 600 for 5 days storage and towing.

Because I use my car on a daily basis and after an assessment I decided to fix my vehicle and requested Discovery to refund me for only towing and storage. To my surprise and dismay, Discovery offered to refund me R2000. What an insult to us black people, this is not the first bad experience as a Broker with Discovery. I handle claims on behalf of clients and almost all the time when it's a black client, I receive endless problems with Discovery.

I think Discovery is racially profiling its clients and as such treat us black people with suspicion and contempt. I am literally starting to feel that Discovery must service its preferred client tele, our white and Indian brothers and sisters.
