Appalling Conduct by Discovery Insure, I’ve Lost All Trust in them.

I am disgusted by how Discovery Insure handled my building insurance claim, lodged on 14 May 2025. Their Internal assessor, approached the matter like a builder, not an insurer, quoting roof brandering construction specifications, nail spacing and manufacturer’s specifications for Rhino ceilings etc. that I, as a woman and not a contractor, could never have known or been expected to know. Instead of supporting a client, who has paid her expensive premium every month without fail, they hid behind building/roof jargon to avoid paying out. If these specs were so critical, why didn’t they inspect my home before taking on the risk and happily collecting my premiums for years? Their conduct is grossly unfair, ********, and reeks of bad faith. I’ve lost all trust in Discovery as a brand and will be cancelling my home & car insurance policy and my medical aid. They’ve shown me that when you need them most, they’ll look for a way out. I've completely lost trust in them and this has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
