Always finding to reject claims - highly qualified claims specialists to find ways to avoid liability of cover

Discovery Insure has been the worse mistake I ever made. Since accepting the premium I had one incident after another finding out the hard way how they matched my premium but conveniently neglected to inform me where they cut on cover to get you to sign up. Hard lessons learned how under insured I have been then having to up the premium to get all these ommited matters covered. They do not match or better cover - they fail to tell you the truth.

I have clearly informed and queried the regard to my car being an offroad vehichle and was duly assured by the call centre agent after putting me on hold confirming with the supervisor on that my car is definitely insured for recreational 4x4 offroading. I specifically moved from Momentum with this distinctive coverage to Discovery as they assured me they do cover me. Now that claim time arrived Discovery refuse any such coverage and informed me that management have confirmed that on the claim for severe scratches caused involuntarily that "there is no insured peril for the claim" - thus confirming the letter of cross border neighbouring country coverage received on 23 December 2016 and the offroading benefits was falsely provided.

Discovery has given me the confidence that my premium and all its members premiums are funding highly qualified recruits specializing in finding ways and means to reject claims. Unreasonable expectations are placed on the consumer to prove their claimworthiness by having to provide bank statements, arial views etc etc to support a claim that has no reason to be rejected.

For an insurance cover being a Fully Comprehensive cover I have been made very clear that there is nothing comprehensive in the coverage Discovery Insure offers and thus have been paying R4,200 on coverage that does not exist. Liability is avoided on claimable damages noted that it is not a normal incident like driving into a barrier or crashing into another vehicle and that because it is not written as a type of incident they are not willing to authorize the claim. Irrespective that i have taken the full comprehensive policy that seems to be nothing more than a debit order for non delivery of benefits. Worse of all cannot provide me with where such exceptions are stipulated that it will be exempted from covering. By not responding they avoid concluding matters. Discovery Insure is the biggest bunch of lying *****s that take premiums from consumers and give them nothing in return. I wish I never joined Discovery Insure as they have left me in a financial burden on a matter that i received confirmation they will be insuring me for verbally and in writing. A half a million asset for me has not been left in a poor state due to deceiving interests of the insurance company.

Thank you for your comment.

Your current policy is a perils based one, this means that in order to submit a claim to the insurer there must have been an insured peril that has been experienced.

You will receive formal letter confirming the outcome of your claim as well as the formal objection or dispute process, you may then follow these steps.

Regards,

Discovery Insure
